does any know the best way to spray paint a set of plastic DTM mirrors? do i need to rough it up to give it a key? primer? undercoat?

any tips or advice much appreciated, cheers

You need to use scotch pad and panel wipe to key and clean it, spray plastic primer on it.

Once you done that use 800grit wet and dry paper to smooth and take away any dirt or bumps in the primer what out you don't sand down to much make sure it's nice and wet.

Once you done that panel wipe it again then spray it in the coloer you want.

thanks, where can i get plastic primer? also i want to fill the joint between the base plate and mirror, whats the best filler to use?

i'm not sure if you should do that but if you do the best way is to fiberglass it together with resin, the other option is to filler it over then put stopper on it.

Plastic primer you can get in a can from halfords or something. I don't really use can's no more i do it in the work shop.

I just painted my engine cover for my Arosa! I gotta redo all my bits under my engine in the C2.

Any information just ask.

If you get some Halfords own brand paint it actually tells you on the side what to do, all the correct grades of wet & dry etc

So can you use this technique to paint non colour coded bumpers?? Cause mine arnt colour coded and i hate it :| but dont fancy buying a bodykit

Haha thats where i bought my car :P Brand new 08... reason i dont have colour coded.. couldnt afford the better model :|
