View Full Version : North West Mini meets.

It has been suggested having a mini meet.

Emily wants one before the summer, at a beach.

I have suggested Llandudno

VTSGav has suggested Karting in Warrington

quote (mini meet sounds cool - i still havent had chance to upload my pics yet but i will prob do it tonight. Anyone fancy speedkarting in warrington at all for a mini meet / mini event? prices are usualy テつ」35 each for the full course and it involves practice laps, heats, semi's and a final. Top 3 come home with a trophy and 1st gets a bottle of "chateau de Mersey"

I am available most evenings and weekends, i lead a very boring life which revolves around work, whisky/beer and music (guitar rock and country)

So watch this space :D

Bowling was suggested in the North west meet thread.

for the locals anything is possible over several dates.

Could do Southport Beach, me and C4VTR were discussing it, possibly when the Air Show is on.

I am up for anything and will be at any Mini Meet organised.

All of that sounds great! Southport is a bit far for me unless there's something to do that's worth travelling for.

Llandudno, or back this way to Rhos on Sea/Colwyn Bay, would be good, too. I know a good cafe/chippy at Llandudno Junction, and a good pub beer garden in Rhos on Sea.

If people want to make a weekend of it in Llandudno, i know a great family run B&B, but would have to sort out parking well in advance as road is at nearly 45 degee angle and is not very long.

Black Rock Sands at Porthmadog - best venue in the world for handbrake turns on wet sand... (allegedly).

Note the clear indicators on bumper and wing. My 1.8 Focus Zetec - aah happy days.

yer karting sounds the best idea, id do that anyday. warrington is the best around in the area, but there is one in sandy croft, near chester. think its cheaper(but wont be as good as warrington!)

Danny
16-01-2006, 12:03 PM
Porthmadog is a good journey. Been there from the Midlands and it takes ages, via Barmouth and Shell Island (good for camping) :D

16-01-2006, 12:05 PM
and you just never know who might just make the trek to come to some of these mini meets!! :) (long way to go but who cares)

Do you know what is invloved in organising a meet? Its not just a case of write a thread and hope people turn up you know.

16-01-2006, 08:42 PM
riiight.

Simply implying that the meets so far have been small .. and that a "mini meet" would be like .. well like 2 people.

I personally would call them "meets". No offence intended guys.

yey

yes, tis true, I'm free most evenings and am willing to travel.

ref Southport Airshow, I may may be able to get free tickets through work, although there's a large chance I will be out of the country when the event takes place.

But in terms of meets, I'm always up for it.

If u'r thinking of Porthmadog or Llandudno, only down the road from me so would be ideal. But the karting sounds cool too. :)

Well This thread was intended for North west section Mini meets, but also is for idea collection for the north west in order to have variety of activities.

I am available most evenings/weekends, so Just PM/telephone when any of you plan a meet i shall do the same for you.

Remember any members are welcome to join in meets.

Danny
19-01-2006, 06:43 AM
There's always the pound shop...............furry dice etc :P

musicaldesigner
19-01-2006, 09:06 AM
Well considering how far Emily had her seat back when i got in her car, i don't think she will need pedal extensions, even with my long legs i had to pull seat forward. unless she pushed it back to get out.

so a home made birthday card and a halfords gift voucher for Den then.

pink furry dice?

Den
19-01-2006, 11:55 AM
wonder y her seat was so far back  id say no to the fury dice tho im affraid

musicaldesigner

musicaldesigner
30-01-2006, 07:53 AM
Well i shall try to get this back to topic

West Midlands safari park seems a good idea shouldn't be too expensive, and as Danny says re-opens in February.

Chester Zoo was suggested before Southport was ageed on.

Jimbo has put up in another subject about Trafford center meet

karting would be fun but money is a key factor.

Donnigton is another good idea again money factor.

plese try to stick to topic or mods will delete.

Danny
30-01-2006, 12:54 PM
If money was a factor each time we met, we would never get together.

I'm sure we can all afford a tank of fuel now and again :D

Jeremy_VTR
30-01-2006, 12:58 PM
Entrance fees can be an issue especially if admitting a whole family.

Den

Den
30-01-2006, 01:59 PM

Bump
30-01-2006, 02:36 PM

Danny
30-01-2006, 02:41 PM

Hack Green sectret Bunker (decommissioned Nuclear bunker from cold war)? www.hackgreen.co.uk

musicaldesigner

Good choice, Llandudno is quite nice on a summers day, plus could ask council for permission to use promenade to park our cars.
