the standard Clarion Head unit has a "loud mode" setting??

perhaps one should actually sit down to the manual one of these days

Easy, Read the manual ;)

Right all you have to do is power on the head unit & then on the right hand side of the head unit you will see the button with the "Music Note". Press that & you will see on the Head Unit display on the dash "Bass > Trebble > Loud > Fade > Balance > Auto Vol"

To move through the above just keep pressing the button. Once you get to "Loud Off" use the button above the "Music Note" the "Up Arrow" to change the "Off" to read "On" & you will hear the differance & also see "Loud" on the display along the bottom. This has to be done in both "Radio" & "CD" mode.

depends how you set it jaimz, mine worked fine before i chopped it out and put a decent unit in!

Although be warned, if you have the bass right up and then turn the "loud" on, make sure your stereos turned down. you'll blow the speakers (eh jody ;))

i like my music pretty "loud" anyhow,

so i have to have it off, otherwise the bass sounds aweful.

but with some decent speakers, i bet it rocks!
