View Full Version : How To Fit An Induction Kit/Air Filter + Pics
Air filter replacement
Easy peesy to do! :D Illustrations shown as for a Pipercross Viper, other makes are fitted the same way.
Undo the metal hose clip and unclip the breather pipe
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/VTR_D55/Picture023Medium.jpg
Disconnect the small air feed from the resonator box to the air filter box
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/VTR_D55/Picture024Medium.jpg
There is a small twist screw to the left of the airbox that holds that it (mine is missing)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/VTR_D55/Picture025Medium.jpg
The Airbox will now lift out after twisting it off the intake manifold at the top.
The resonator box at the front of the car is just clipped in loosly, basically pull upwards, this is what it looks like with both bits removed :
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/VTR_D55/100_1544Small.jpg
Now attach the Viper to where you took the OEM filter off and tighten screw up, not forgetting to clip to breather on too.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/VTR_D55/camera051Medium.jpg
At the other end you really need a cold air feed pipe to get the most out of the Viper, cold air works better than warm of course! Be careful of the green connector in the picture below, if you disturn it too much you can activate an engine warning light and need to go to Citroen to get it reset!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/VTR_D55/camera052Medium.jpg
The other end can be put where you like really, a common place is down where the resonator box was in front of the battery.
Hope this helps, Bump.

The air intake pipe on my VTS dosn't go into a resonator box at all.
Looks the same BUT it just has an open end (facing the side of the car) where yours bends down into the resonator box.
Is this right? Always thought it was a bit strange, because it's not a great way of getting air to the engine. Facing sideways?

VTS intake:

Does the VTS still have a resonator box under the inlet then or is it mounted on the car itself ?

My Code is the same as the VTS. The resonator box is under the inlet. The resonator is clipped onto the back of the radiator!

Mine is just like the pic Maleko posted.
Seems strange to me thet the air intake is facing sideways, surely it would get cooler air facing forwards?

youll need to buy a filter for the oil breather then. you can get them most places tbh, even in halfrauds. its just like a small mushroom filter that sits on the pipe that the breather tubing connects to

As the insurance won't let me have an IK.. Would it do much removing the resonator box?
I've heard they restrict it quite alot, and it looks like if you take it off.. You'll have a pipe straight into the airbox.
I've a green cotton panel filter on order so hopefully that'll flow better than the standard one.

wouldn't happen to know what size elbow i'd need to fit over the resonator would you?
Does anybody know how to remove the 'resonator box' from the VTS? as i cant fit the cold air feed
