the top part of the grill should just either pull or push off, cant remember now, and yes theres like a plastic cover behind this, i took mine off. the lower grill is the same, prepare to watch your front bumper wobble when you try to pull it off

Thanks maleko i searched through your topics looking but i only saw the one where u meshed it!
"East mate below the chevrons push the grille backwards until it unclips and pops out, pull it out the front, detach the splash guard, feed the grille back in then clip it back on to the bumper."
thats confused me a bit though? what bit do you push out and what bit is the splashguard? lol sorry

Push that bit inwards.
Wat I did:
Start fromt he edges push hard, I had to push very hard, it will unclip, then work your way from both edges to the center, then u can pull it through once off.
The splash guard is the piece that makes it look solid, that unclips once its off, you will see on the back of it once u have removed it.
Then just feed it back through the hole and pull it back into place onto its clips.

Maleko your a legend, cheers for the advice.
Well that was much harder than expected lol was very hard to get the grill out, luckily it went back in easy as you could put your fingers in the holes lol might be a different story when putting it back with the splashguard fitted!
Anyway heres some pictures of it, looks much better imo

I've got that hole in front of the alternator, nothing to worry about.
By the way, the VTS HDi doesnt have the splashguard fitted to it :)

Mines now been off for about 2.5 years never had any problems with the alternator getting dirty or wet, don't worry.
Good advice! Found the quickest way of removing mine, hit a pidgeon doing about 45 and bang, lower grille was gone! Hey presto!!!

anyone tried re-fitting the splashguard? i've removed it, and put it in without the splashguard easy enough because you can put your fingers through it. But i wanted to put it back on but it a struggle pulling it back in!
Or do i need more patience!!??
